A.L.P.H.A. Reimagined...The Art of Mastering Self-Leadership

Are you challenged trying to fetch the life of your dreams?

Do you ever feel like you’re just not really going all out or chasing a bigger dream because you lack confidence or lack a vision for your future?

Maybe you’re stuck chasing your tail and not achieving your goals - or dropping the ball on your career, with the ones you love, and maybe even yourself?

Imagine a life free of limitations. Imagine what it would feel like to be totally engaged in life and pursuing what you truly desire … with confidence … with clarity … with energy … and with total conviction?

Imagine the possibilities of life unleashed.

How DO you close the gap between where you are and where you’d really rather be - where you know you CAN be?

You can do it … but you must first master YOU.

Using dogs as a metaphor for self-leadership, Gila will introduce you to the A.L.P.H.A. process to help reframe your perspective, ignite your passions, renew your sense of purpose, and fundamentally shift how you live each day.

Sue Revell Coach, Speaker and Writer, Sue Revell, is on a mission to STOP women playing small. With over 30 years of Coaching & Leadership experience, Sue loves nothing more than disrupting the unhelpful thinking and societal norms that hold women back from making the world a better place. Sue helps world-changing women get out of resistance and into flow so that they can think, dream and BE bigger in leading change.

Coaching internationally, Sue's clients include business and political leaders, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, clinical leaders, athletes and performers. She is a guest Lecturer on personal leadership, a regular media contributor and an experienced ‘Non-Executive’ Director. Sue is also a tennis fan, an accomplished soloist, and a butler to two felines.

Being Unstoppable in Your Mission

In a world that is increasingly about hustling, crushing it and smashing it, it's easy to be permanently focused on the things that we need to DO to be successful in our mission. For some of us, creating to-do lists, writing project plans and bringing to life our strategic vision can be really motivating, particularly when we are in the early stages of doing so. But, as time goes by, it can be increasingly exhausting, especially for some women. Yet, it doesn't have to be this way.  According to Sue, ‘when we understand that to be unstoppable – to be in flow - is a state of BE-ing, and not just of doing, so much more becomes possible.’

Sue’s interactive session is all about self-discovery. Using a set of Russian Dolls as teachers, Sue will guide us in exploring the six elements of mission mastery that help us to be in flow, lead with impact, feel fulfilled in our mission and like we are showing up as the very best version of ourselves. She has asked us to come with an example of when we were so engaged in an activity or a hobby that the rest of the world disappeared and you possessed a willingness to suspend all you think you know, and give yourself permission to get really curious!

Jenn Whitmer is a Leadership Speaker and Certified Enneagram Coach who helps teams and leaders solve conflict and personality clashes. She asks big questions that lead to big dreams and big ideas and big living and makes sure there’s a hearty amount of laughter along the way.

Jenn has graduate certificates in music education, theology, and leadership, along with a Master of Arts in communication and culture from Webster University and certification as an Enneagram coach. Jenn lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with her husband, Michael, their four kids, and a cat that puts up with them all.

Oh, There You Are: Knowing Yourself Again with the Enneagram

Do ever feel like you miss who you used to be? Where did she go? Over time, you’ve slipped away or maybe a single event has shattered your sense of self. And, you know your fullest, truest self is there, just waiting for you to find her.

The Enneagram is a personality framework that shows us our motivations and drivers. It enables us to really tune into what we are truly afraid of and what we profoundly desire. Using the Enneagram, we can observe ourselves with honesty and compassion, finding deep self-acceptance and the opportunity to grow. The Enneagram helps us know ourselves and gives us the agency to live with peace, confidence, and joy. Jenn Whitmer will engage and delight you with an introduction to the wisdom of the Enneagram and help you find your way home.

In her free time Liza enjoys yoga, entertaining friends with yummy gluten free and dairy free dishes and spending time with her family.

Building Personal Empowerment by Breaking the Cycle of Self-Sacrifice

Self-sacrifice shows up when we give up a part of ourselves and put the needs of others before our own. Have you ever wanted to launch a new career, but stopped short for fear that your family just wouldn’t be able to handle it?

We enter into self-sacrifice from a place of deep love. But the truth is, it comes from fear. Even more, the ramifications may be long-lasting and harmful to your family. We fall victim to self-sacrifice when:

  • We train people to believe they need something from us.
  • We communicate to our family members that they are not capable of handling life circumstances.
  • We deny our children the space to be unhappy or uncomfortable.

In her talk, Liza Blas will shed light on the selfish truth of self-sacrifice and how to end this harmful cycle. She will explain how breaking the cycle of self-sacrifice gives way to a new cycle, enables people to become the most empowered version of themselves and is one of the greatest acts of love one can provide to their family. You will get:

  1. Awareness strategies to spot self-sacrifice
  2. A simple guide to end the cycle and gain freedom
  3. Building blocks to continue your empowerment journey

Rachel Lankester is a Midlife Mentor, Writer, Podcaster, and the Founder of the Magnificent Midlife Movement, which celebrates and empowers women 40+ to vibrantly transition through the sometimes messy middle of life. After a shocking early menopause at 41, she scratched her own itch and created what she wasn't able to find to help herself. The Magnificent Midlife world includes a personal mentoring program, educational resources, an inspiring podcast, and an online members club to help women refresh, re-energize and refocus. Rachel's own midlife reinvention came after a successful career in communications, when she decided she needed to live a life more aligned with the woman she was becoming. After years of trying, Rachel can now stand on her head and ran her first, and as yet only, half marathon to celebrate her 50th birthday.

How to Create a Magnificent Next Chapter

Are you feeling that itch to live differently going forward? Are you wondering, ‘what next?’ Has that annoying niggle in the back of your head that there must be more to life become a stroppy roar? Has Covid made this even more of a priority than before?

Join Rachel for an exciting workshop that takes a deep dive into how to create a next chapter that inspires and fulfils you. During the workshop, Rachel will guide you in:

  1. Looking at who you are now and what motivates you
  2. Assessing your values and how well your life is currently aligned with who you are now and what motivates you.
  3. Taking stock of what you love to do and what you’re good at and where your innate strengths lie.

  5. Creating a ‘Chuck It’ list of what you never want to have to do ever again!
  6. A future you envisioning exercise to tap into your intuition and experience its powerful presence when you choose to relax and embrace your inner mentor.

She believes that shame is at the root of our emotional and psychological problems and is often called other names such as low self-esteem, self sabotage, limiting beliefs, fear of failure, self-doubt, and more. By uncovering its presence, we can begin to transcend its barriers and take courageously imperfect action toward our calling, purpose and dreams. In her talk, Dr. Shawn will help us identify the voice of toxic shame that is hindering our success and learn specific steps we can take for wholehearted living.

Quitting to Win: How to Let Go of the Things that are Hacking Your Success

Have you been hacked this year by the pandemic, politics, or human rights?

What does hacked even mean?

What is the cost?

According to author Crystal Waltman, being hacked means that something else has gained unauthorized access to our systems and our brain. What’s hacking us? Smart phones, multi-tasking, social media scrolling, just to name a few. The cost of being hacked is an inability to turn your dreams into action. Women who are hacked often become paralyzed.  During this session, Crystal will walk you through a step-by-step journey to:

  1. Connect with where you’ve been hacked.
  2. Understand the impact of being hacked.
  3. Identify the emotions that accompany the hack.
  4. Learn the benefits of getting into a flow state.
  5. Identify new habits that will allow you to close the gap between dreaming and doing.

Rhianna Sanford is an Entrepreneur, Author and Speaker whose journey of being mother to her amazing daughter, Kaiya, with severe special needs led her to a tangible knowledge of key Biblical truths, which she has written about in her book, This Special Life: Living With Special Needs & Loving It! Rhianna has been featured on many podcasts and speaks widely, inspiring other special needs moms and instilling in them transformative power to live their lives with perseverance and tenacity.

Rhianna is a woman of faith, wife of 21 years and mom to 3 teens. One fun fact about Rhianna is that though she's had many childhood fears follow her through adulthood, most know her today as FEARLESS. One of her favorite quotes in this “second act” of life is “Do it scared.”

Living with Special Needs & LOVING IT

Rhianna Sanford, caregiver to her teenage daughter living with Rett Syndrome, knows all too well the challenges of living with special needs, and the limiting beliefs within the special needs community, which can all too easily define how mothers of exceptional children show up for themselves, their families and the world at large. In this short yet powerful session, Rhianna will share three essential keys to living the phenomenal life you were created for amid life’s unexpected circumstances. These keys have equipped Rhianna to maximize her God-given abilities and walk out her Divine Purpose. How to Raise Your Vibe and Thrive at Midlife

Living a high vibe life is the secret to health and happiness and being a woman who sparks. Keeping energy high consistently can be challenging, yet it is very important because the vibes you put out determine what you attract and manifest.

All of us have areas that we excel in and areas that need work.

Here’s the thing: At midlife you’re gifted with an entire second adulthood. You have the experience behind you and know what’s up. This workshop will reveal your strongest attraction factor (where in your life you’re at a high vibe) and your attention factor (what you can fix to raise your vibe) and empower you to use your wisdom and inspire you to take action so you can make your next chapter your best chapter.

You will learn:

  1. Where you are on track toward understanding how your body, mind, heart, spirit, and relationships are working to keep your vibe high.
  2. What areas you need to focus on to raise your energy and live a high vibe life.
  3. Specific shifts you can make and steps you can take to raise your vibe so you thrive, rather than survive

Or, are you discouraged because you’ve planned and worked, but life looks nothing like what you imagined it would?

If you can relate to any or all of these, you should definitely join us for this workshop. By the end of our time together you will be equipped to:

1. Identify your Midlife Mindset

Banish Your Imposter Thoughts for Good

Feeling Like an Imposter? How to get out of your own way to achieve the success you deserve

Have you ever been in a situation in which the people around you were telling you that you were achieving at a high level at something, but you just couldn’t see what they saw? If you find yourself feeling that way, you could be struggling with the Imposter phenomenon. Someone experiences the Imposter phenomenon when he or she feels inadequate or self-doubt, regardless of how much he or she achieves. As a result, imposters are often unable to internalize or truly enjoy their success and may consistently worry that they’ll be found out as “frauds.”

In her talk, Dr. Thompson will explore research related to the Imposter phenomenon, along with the individual and societal factors that can cause us to struggle with these thoughts. As a “recovered imposter,” she will also share her own journey, and provide practical strategies that can help you to overcome these feelings, so that you can not only accomplish your goals, but also fully enjoy your success.

How Pickleball Can Improve Your Health and Your Sex Life

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America.

If not, tune into Michelle’s talk because, according to her, playing this game could improve your overall health and sex life. If you already play Pickleball, then perhaps you know what a blast the sport can be. In addition to sharing her love for the sport and its positive effects, Michelle will also invite you to share what you love about the game, how it's improved your overall health and, as she puts it, ’if you're brave enough, how it's improved your sex life!’

Kids....Adult Kids Say The Darndest Things!

Let’s face it: As parents, we do and say things to our adult children that they wish we wouldn’t. The challenge? We have no idea what these things are, and our adult children simply won’t tell us. In this session, Debra Cole is here to spill the beans. She is going to share with you—baby boomer and older Gen X parents—the words of your Gen Z offspring.

You’ll emerge with a list of start doing, stop doing and—oh by the way, yes—keep doing, and you will be positioned to build stronger relationships with your adult children.

How I Know the Midlife Crisis Thing is a Myth (and what we can do about it)

Have you ever experienced a transitional period in your life that made you question your value, purpose and sense of identity? Did it make you feel like you were having what society calls a ‘midlife crisis’, like it was somehow a flaw within you?

In her TED-style talk, midlife transitions expert, Dara Goldberg, will use her own experience of getting ‘lost in transition’ in her 40s, and a hearty dose of passion and humor to help us understand why it’s not a breakdown or a flaw within us when we feel out of touch with who we are and what ignites us, and provide us with some simple steps we can take to manage and find growth in our own midlife transitions and kick the midlife crisis myth to the curb once and for all.

Dr. Maggie Landes is a Board-Certified Physician, Public Health Nutritionist, and Anti-Diet Wellness Expert. Her signature weight-inclusive group coaching program helps women who are exasperated with chronic dieting learn how to live a healthy and unrestricted life without the distraction of rigid eating behavior. She is also the host of “The Eatfluencer Podcast'' where she teaches people how the wisdom of the human body and the power of positive thinking are the gateway to healing our relationship with food. She's the kind of woman who wore cowboy boots with her wedding dress, always has a "real" camera for the big things, and never met a food that couldn't handle a little melted cheese!

Small Isn't Your Size Anyway

Dieting is optional. Living your life is not.

Every woman has a unique story and a valuable voice that deserves to be heard right now, just as you are. Women living without the shackles of chronic dieting are the changemakers, the tree shakers, and the thought leaders that will move our world. Our diet culture’s message of pursuing smallness is keeping women stuck and distracted, and it is extinguishing our spark. Let’s come together to understand how we got here and how we can get out!

In her talk, Maggie will support, empower and challenge us to take the steps necessary for us to let go of the ‘eat small, play small, and be small in the world’ diet culture that we have been taught to believe in and which is literally damaging our health. To use her words, ‘small isn’t your size anyway.’

3 C's to Command Any Room

Imagine:

...walking into a room feeling like you could conquer the world, free of self-doubt

...standing out as an influential leader who others want to follow.

...being so confident that nothing could shake you.

In this talk, you will learn how to speak with confidence. Specifically:

  1. The #1 tool that’s underutilized by women, tanking our credibility (yet totally within our control to change!). We all have this power tool, but most women don’t use it to its full advantage. With a few tweaks, you can catapult your credibility!
  2. How to stop rambling and get your point across clearly and succinctly. Leave with sentence prompts and a formula to help you stay focused.
  3. The tool to stop giving away your power and step into the woman you were destined to be. You'll be invited to increase your awareness of those areas where you may sabotage yourself without even realizing it. Most importantly, how to change it!

Get Out of Your Head: The Art of Journaling

Journaling is a powerful practice. It allows us to get all of our random thoughts out of our head. Journaling isn't about creating beautiful writing. It's about giving ourselves permission to be imperfect and get to the root of our emotions. The daily practice of journaling helps us explore our creativity, reduce stress & anxiety, discover solutions to challenges, and so much more.

Come prepared with a notebook, an open mind, and the willingness to not take yourself too seriously. It's going to be fun!

Mona Ying Reeves is a Renovator, Architect, Interior Designer, and a Behind-the-Scenes Consultant to various HGTV shows. After years of being a Design Leader in male-dominated industries, she founded Kickstart House to support everyday women in becoming empowered in their remodel and construction journeys. Kickstart House helps homeowners navigate the building process via Free Resources, a Roadmap, Coaching, and a private Community. Mona is currently transforming her own mid-century fixer-upper into a modern wonder and is ready to turn your house into your dream home, too.

Women in Charge: Taking Control of Your Home Renovation

Renovating a home can be complicated and affect both your physical and mental well-being. Women initiate 80% of home improvement projects, yet the construction industry is over 90% male. This inherent disconnect often brings about added stress and miscommunication.

In her talk, Mona will share what it means to take on the role of a female 'patron' in the home renovation sphere today, and what empowered women need to know to start any building-related project off right and set it up for success.

She will share the top 3 mistakes women make when beginning a remodel or renovation and teach us her Kickstart House Technique, which is designed to help you avoid these common pitfalls and confidently navigate your building journey. You will leave the session with a fresh perspective to tackle your next remodel or renovation, along with a valuable free download exclusive only to Women Who Spark attendees.

How to Ditch the Monday Mentality, and Start Living Your Best Life Today!

If you are anything like me, you start every Monday the same way: with an extensive list of to-dos that you just KNOW will change your life. " I am going to get up at 5am. I am going to do all the things! I am going to not eat the carbs. I am going to work out. I am going to make those calls. I am going to build that program..." Monday shows up, and you start off with gusto and confidence, springing out of bed like you're on fire, checking the boxes off with finesse only to burn out by mid-week: "What was I thinking?! Maybe, next Monday." It's a good thing we have an infinite amount of next Mondays, right?!

And that's where I come in: How about we get off this exhausting and destructive Monday rollercoaster together? It's your turn to learn proven habit-based techniques so you can create lasting results in all facets of your life. Today, not Monday. I want you to walk away not only with confidence and motivation to step into your best life but having developed an effective strategy and roadmap to start living that life, right now.

Say Hello to Your New Life!

Sometimes a challenging and unexpected experience opens the door to a new life. Each of us will face difficult times in life. For some, it’s a cancer diagnosis. For others, a divorce. Perhaps a death in the family. When something like this happens, part of you will want to crawl in a cave and never come out.

Sue’s battle with cancer hit her really hard. She was exhausted and depleted from the treatments. She worried that her life would end before she was ready. Realizing that life was short, she found that she wanted to do more with the time she had left, so she started to make changes. First, with her job – leaving the corporate world to start her own small business. Then, by adopting an exercise plan and making some changes to her diet. And, by spending more time with her family. Once she got going, she says, she never looked back.

Maybe life will be short – but we can make the most of it! Come to this session to learn how you can take steps to say hello to your own new life following an unexpected and difficult season.

Prissy Elrod is a Columnist, Speaker, and Published Author of two books: Far Outside the Ordinary and Chasing Ordinary, both popular with books clubs around the country. Her column, Panhandling, appears in 2020’s Best Florida Life-Style Magazine, Flamingo Magazine.

Prissy uses the metaphor of the epic caterpillar to butterfly metamorphosis to portray her incredible journey of transformation following the death of her husband. As she so eloquently puts it, ‘just when the caterpillar thought the world ended, it became a butterfly.’ Her goal is to help the next person sabotaged by the unexpected in life. She is known as The Butterfly Girl, as her story inspires others to believe in themselves and achieve the extraordinary. She lives in Tallahassee, located in the panhandle of Florida.

How Embracing Loss Can Lead to Eternal Happiness

The only way to effectively express the power of Prissy’s talk is to use her words: “When a brain tumor stole my husband, it also stole my identity. I was faced with an unfamiliar, colorless landscape, but I chose to believe when one person dies, two people shouldn’t. With this belief, I began an excavation of self to find my new purpose in life. I did so by reimaging, recreating, and resurrecting the untapped talent which lay dormant inside me for decades.”

In her talk, Prissy will use her butterfly metaphor to share her incredible journey of transformation and how she challenged herself to step out of her comfort zone and move from the shadows into the spotlight and how it led to a new career and a new identity. She is committed to using her story to inspire others to believe in themselves and achieve their extraordinary.
